StreamSight: Driving transparency in music royalties with AI-powered forecasting
BMG partnered with Google Cloud to develop StreamSight, an AI-driven application for royalty tracking. This tool aims to improve precision, speed, and transparency in processing vast amounts of streaming data. StreamSight uses machine learning models to forecast digital royalty revenue and detect reporting anomalies. The application combines Google Cloud's scalable technology with BMG's industry expertise. It leverages BigQuery ML for revenue forecasting using models like ARIMA_PLUS and BOOSTED_TREE. For anomaly detection, K-means and ANOMALY_DETECT functions identify issues like missing sales or mismatched rights. StreamSight can highlight problems such as missing sales periods or revenue reported without corresponding rights. The dashboard, built on Google Cloud, makes results easy to interpret and share. This collaboration demonstrates how cloud-based AI can modernize royalty processing and ensure fairer, faster payouts. StreamSight is a proof of concept with potential for future enhancements, including integrating more data sources and segmentation.
