A secure software supply chain is vital for safe innovation and modern delivery. Software supply chain attacks have significantly increased. Google Cloud Secure Source Manager (SSM) helps address these threats by unifying source and CI/CD system management. SSM now offers two new capabilities to enhance development and CI/CD workflows. It can block unauthorized access to CI/CD systems, even if the corporate network is compromised. Additionally, a new Code Owners system provides granular control over pull request approvers per file and branch. This feature allows for specific approvers for different sections of code. It also supports branch-specific governance and nestable ownership files. Furthermore, independent approval sections can require sign-offs from multiple departments before merging. SSM also integrates with Developer Connect for secure CI/CD system and runtime connections.
