Suppress email responses to calendar invitations and updates

Google Calendar is introducing a new per-event setting to manage RSVP email notifications. Organizers or their delegates can now choose whether to receive emails for guest responses and automatic replies. By default, the "Get an email when guests respond" setting is checked, meaning organizers will receive these emails. Unchecking this box has several implications for notification receipt.Organizers will no longer receive RSVP emails from Google Calendar users, though their status will update on the event. For attendees using third-party calendar tools like Outlook, organizers will not receive RSVP emails, and their status won't appear on the event. Additionally, organizers will stop receiving automatic email replies such as out-of-office or vacation responders. This feature is particularly useful for organizers of large meetings who prefer not to receive numerous individual RSVP notifications. For recurring events, this setting applies to the entire series rather than individual instances. There are no administrator controls for this feature; end users manage it directly. The rollout for Rapid Release domains begins on August 28, 2026, with a gradual release. Scheduled Release domains will see a full rollout starting September 10, 2026. This functionality will be available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts. Further details are available in the Google Help Center.
