Google Meet is introducing a new feature to improve in-person meeting collaboration. This feature allows users to actively participate without sacrificing note-taking. A "Take Notes" button is available on both the web and mobile versions of Google Meet. Launching a note-taking session is done directly from the Meet home screen. Once initiated, Gemini will actively capture notes for your in-person meetings. Upon concluding audio capture, Gemini automatically generates a structured summary, action items, and a full transcript. These artifacts are compiled into a Google Doc and saved to your Google Drive. A link to this document will also be emailed to you. Administrators can control this feature via existing Google Meet note settings. This functionality will be gradually rolled out to various platforms starting in August 2026.
