Teacher-led Gemini Notebook in... Note

Teacher-led Gemini Notebook in Google Classroom now offers insight summaries for educators and updated sharing settings for admins, including trusted domains

Google Classroom is enhancing the teacher experience with Gemini Notebook insight summaries. These summaries provide educators with valuable information about student engagement and understanding of assigned notebooks. Teachers can now view an overall summary of student interaction, common themes like frequent questions or areas needing support, and individual student chat transcripts for deeper context. This feature is specifically for Gemini Notebooks assigned through Google Classroom, and students are notified that their conversations are visible to their teacher.Google Workspace administrators gain new granular controls for external sharing of Gemini Notebooks, including trusted domains. This allows for greater flexibility, enabling cross-domain assignments if domains are designated as trusted. To utilize these features, administrators must ensure Gemini Notebook is enabled for both teachers and students within their organization. Gemini Notebook external sharing is disabled by default but can be managed at various organizational levels. Teachers can create and assign Gemini Notebooks, and view insight summaries, if their admin has enabled the feature. Students can use assigned notebooks if Gemini Notebook is enabled for them. Insight summaries are rolling out now for Google Workspace for Education users. The feature is available for Education Fundamentals, Standard, and Plus editions.
