The oldest wooden house in Helsinki's courtyard contains a reddish granite stone, once the favorite seat of fire captain Alexander Wickholm. Wickholm often sat on this stone to smoke his pipe and observe the yard. After his death in 1896, his granddaughter moved the stone to his grave in 1923. Following the stone's relocation, the house began to experience paranormal activity, including banging noises and slamming shutters. These disturbances persisted until the stone was returned to its original position in the courtyard. The house now functions as a museum, and the alleged ghost of Wickholm continues to make his presence known. Activity reportedly increased after a museum history described Wickholm as "grumpy." Since then, small acts of mischief, like rearranged items, have occurred overnight. Museum staff and guides acknowledge the stories and express a reluctance to spend the night there. The granite stone remains in its original courtyard location, with legend claiming Wickholm still sits upon it.
