Third Georgia Democrat Lawmaker Accused Of Pandemic Fraud

The US Attorney condemned Sharper’s actions, highlighting the misuse of funds intended for those in need during the pandemic. The Georgia State Inspector General labeled the alleged conduct as disgraceful abuse of power. This is the third Democratic Georgia House member to face similar charges. Representative Sharon Henderson was previously charged and suspended for related offenses. Representative Karen Bennett resigned and pleaded guilty to making false statements in January. These incidents raise concerns about the integrity of some elected officials. The charges highlight a pattern of alleged fraud within the state's Democratic representatives.
