Top Movie Piracy Ring Taken Down, Major Studios' Enforcement Group Claims

The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), a coalition of major film studios, has successfully shut down Fmovies, a large-scale streaming piracy operation based in Vietnam. Fmovies, along with its associated sites like bflixz, flixtorz, and myflixer, was responsible for attracting over 6.7 billion visits between 2023 and 2024, making it the largest pirate streaming operation globally. The operation involved the video hosting provider Vidsrc.to and its affiliated sites, all allegedly run by the same individuals. Two Vietnamese men were arrested by Hanoi police in connection with Fmovies and are awaiting charges. ACE chairman and CEO Charles Rivkin hailed the takedown as a significant victory for the creative community, highlighting the global impact of piracy. His colleague Larissa Knapp emphasized the deterrent message sent by the action, hoping to discourage future piracy operations.
