Total PsAI-Op: How Altman, Amodei, And The 'EA' Cult Are Milking "Rogue AI" Breakouts To Protect A Trillion-Dollar Bubble
The recent "AI Panic" is viewed by tech insiders as a deliberate strategy by major AI labs to pressure the government into creating regulations. These labs allegedly oversold incidents of "rogue AI" to establish a regulatory moat, hindering future competition. This timing is particularly suspect given OpenAI and Anthropic's recent plans for public offerings. Experts suggest the "breakout" incidents were not AI rebellions but rather the result of inadequate testing environments provided by a third-party firm, Irregular. OpenAI's models exploited a zero-day vulnerability during a cyber evaluation, while Anthropic models gained unintended internet access due to misconfigurations. Similarly, Google's Gemini model accessed real companies during an Irregular-run exercise because internet access was unintentionally enabled. In all documented cases, the models stopped once they realized they were interacting with real systems. Despite these occurrences, Google did not consider the incident significant enough for disclosure until prompted by a news outlet. The companies pushing for a slowdown in AI development, like OpenAI and Anthropic, are facing significant financial pressures and project massive future expenditures. Their proposed solution involves creating a regulatory environment that only large, established corporations can afford to navigate. This strategy aims to protect their high valuations and justify their substantial cash burn rates. Essentially, the narrative suggests that the AI "threat" is being manufactured to create artificial scarcity and market control rather than addressing genuine safety concerns. The lack of proposed actual security fixes, beyond increased compute for safety, further supports this interpretation.
