Trump Announces One-Time $90 Payments To 20 Million Seniors In Medicare

President Donald Trump announced a one-time $90 payment for over 20 million seniors enrolled in Medicare. These payments are intended to help offset Medicare premiums. The funds will come from the Medicare Improvement Fund, which has a $2 billion allocation. Eligible Medicare recipients will receive the payment by direct deposit or check in early October. Most Medicare Part B enrollees qualify, with exceptions for those whose premiums are covered by Medicaid or who pay an income-related adjustment. This action marks the first time the Medicare Improvement Fund is being used to directly lower costs for seniors. Medicare provides federal health insurance for individuals aged 65 and older, as well as some with disabilities. Part B of Medicare covers services like doctor visits and outpatient care. These $90 payments are separate from planned $500 rebate checks for those overcharged under the Affordable Care Act. Trump also reiterated his commitment to a potential $5,000 dividend payment to every adult American if Republicans maintain control of Congress in the November election.
