Vance has been active domestically and internationally, notably supporting Trump’s military actions in Venezuela. Both Vance and Rubio were former senators before joining Trump's team. Vance expressed a focus on his current role, while Rubio supported Vance without dismissing his own potential candidacy. Turning Point USA has endorsed Vance for 2028. A recent poll showed Vance with a significant lead among Republican voters, with Rubio trailing. Donald Trump Jr. also polled well in the same poll.
