The VPN, which was active since Russia's invasion, enabled users to access blocked Russian government sites, social media, and news, potentially being exploited by Russian intelligence. The service handled over 100GB of data daily and was linked to 48 million Russian IP addresses, with Ukrainian cyber police seizing servers and equipment in multiple locations. The suspect faces charges that could lead to a 15-year prison sentence, with ongoing investigations into further connections and funding sources.
