Google Sheets now natively supports the entire Google Fonts library for charts. Users can access this feature by selecting "More fonts" in the chart editor's font dropdown menu. This allows for customization of chart titles, subtitles, axis labels, and legend text with web fonts. The enhanced font support also improves compatibility with Microsoft Excel. Previously, custom fonts in Excel charts were lost upon import into Google Sheets. Now, custom fonts are preserved during import and export, maintaining visual consistency. This applies to charts where the font is available on both platforms. The feature is designed to help users maintain brand fidelity when switching between spreadsheets. There are no admin controls for this new functionality. It will gradually roll out to Rapid Release domains starting September 1, 2026, and Scheduled Release domains starting September 21, 2026.
