Video tile pairing is now available on Google Meet mobile to improve accessibility for users and language interpreters

Google Meet is expanding video tile pairing to iOS and Android mobile devices, building on its web feature. This allows users to pair their video tile with another participant's tile, displaying them side-by-side. This is particularly beneficial for accessibility, enabling Deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals to pair with sign language interpreters. Keeping both tiles visible ensures a more inclusive experience for all participants, regardless of who is speaking. The feature is useful for co-presenting or utilizing interpretation services while on the go. Once paired, both tiles will be highlighted and positioned together in the meeting layout. Live captions will be displayed and attributed to both paired speakers. Admins can manage this feature, which is on by default and can be disabled at the OU level. End users also have the option to enable or disable it. Rollout for Android devices began on October 12, 2026, and for iOS devices on November 2, 2026. This feature is available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.
