Virginia flag banned in Texas district over exposed breast

A Texas school district removed a lesson about Virginia from its online learning platform for elementary students. This decision was due to the depiction of the state flag, which features a bare breast. The district's ban on visual depictions of frontal nudity in elementary school materials prompted the removal. The district confirmed this to the Texas Freedom to Read Project co-director, Anne Russey. The district uses the educational website PebbleGo Next, which includes the image of the flag. The lesson also features the state seal, which includes the same image. The lesson describes the figure as the Roman goddess Virtus, and the defeated tyrant. The lesson highlights Virginia's motto, "Sic semper tyrannis". The district did not respond to further inquiries regarding the situation.
