Google Meet is enhancing its 'Take notes for me' feature by automatically capturing screenshots of presented content. This addition aims to address the limitations of transcripts, which often lack crucial visual context from presentations. Without these visuals, meeting notes can become incomplete or confusing, especially when speakers reference unseen materials. Administrators can control this feature through the Admin console, deciding whether to always allow screenshots or only when recording is active. End users will receive a notification when presenting if screenshots are being captured for the notes. This screenshot functionality can be individually disabled within the notes panel. The feature will begin a gradual rollout on August 3, 2026, for both Rapid and Scheduled Release domains, potentially taking up to 15 days to become visible. It will be available for Google Workspace Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, and Google AI Pro for Education editions. This improvement will provide richer, more comprehensive meeting notes by integrating visual elements with textual transcripts.
