Windows Drops Under 60% in Global Desktop OS Share
Windows' global desktop OS share fell to 56.55% in June 2026, marking its first time below 60% in years. Linux showed a strong performance, reaching 4.39%, while Apple's combined desktop presence with OS X and macOS significantly surpassed Linux's share. Chrome OS accounted for 1.21% of desktop OS usage during the same period.
