Wing Python IDE version 12.0.2 has been released with several new features and improvements. The release includes a native ARM64 Windows version of Wing, improved remote development on Windows, and enhanced performance and responsiveness. The new version also streamlines Claude Code setup and reduces the size of the analysis cache database by about 20%. Wing 12 integrates the Claude Code AI coding agent directly into the IDE, with a new Claude Code tool and a Tasks tool for planning and reviewing AI agent work. The IDE is available in two feature-based product tiers: Wing Pro, the full-featured Python IDE, and Wing Classic, the complete traditional Python IDE. Wing 12 also includes many other improvements, such as automatic test file discovery, improved source code analysis, and faster detection of externally modified files. The product line has been simplified, with the Commercial and Non-Commercial use distinction replaced by the two feature-based product tiers. Existing users of Wing Personal may continue to use Personal 11.x indefinitely, switch to free Wing 101, or purchase a Wing Classic license.
