The Gmail mobile app on iOS and Android is being updated to allow users to manage delegated email accounts. Previously, this functionality was only available through the web interface. This update enables delegates to read, manage, and compose emails on behalf of another user directly from their mobile devices. Delegates can now easily switch between their own inbox and delegated accounts within the app. They will also see unread message counts for delegated inboxes and can view emails from multiple accounts together in the "All inboxes" view. When sending emails from a delegated account, recipients will see the "sent by" information. Administrators will not need to configure any new settings, as this feature uses existing delegation policies. Delegators also do not need to perform any additional setup for their delegates. To access a delegated account on mobile, users must first be granted permission through Gmail web settings. After granting access, delegates can select the delegated account from their profile picture menu in the Gmail app. This new feature is rolling out to all Google Workspace customers and personal Google account users.
